Everything can be easier, more flowing and lighter
Have you ever noticed that everything would go unexpectedly easily, lightly and without resistance? What kind of new thoughts, perspectives, or opportunities could such a state of being and activity bring to your life if it happened more often? What would you be willing to try or explore? Or what would you most need this in your life? How would your story change if you found a way to approach adversity with curiosity and to be gentler and loving towards yourself?
PQ is an efficient and effective gentle method of self-discovery and self-management
PQ – Positive Intelligence coaching is the practice of mental flexibility and fitness. Positivity does not mean that everything in life can be happy and without adversity. In the PQ program, it means that we don’t get hijacked by negative and toxic thoughts and operating patterns completely. When we recognize the sabotaging forces hijacking the mind and body better, we can turn them into resources.
What are the Saboteurs?
In the PQ program, 10 classic examples and their variations can be identified. Our archetypal toxic reaction patterns are, for example, Avoiding, Blaming, Fighting, Minimizing, and Victimizing. Do you already recognize someone in yourself or someone else? A different stress reaction model can be active in various situations. However, we often have one main type that can trigger a stress response cycle. PQ training guides you in approaching these Saboteurs with curiosity and facing them face to face. When this happens, you learn to understand your needs and goals better. Ultimately, the program focuses on an empathic and accepting attitude, innovation, creativity, and thinking that reinforces deeper meanings. The Saboteurs do have a message that needs to be heard correctly and turned into a more positive response.
Antidotes for stress reactions caused by saboteurs
The antidote to blaming can be, for example, expressing one’s own needs and feelings more precisely. Instead of reacting with “Why don’t you ever do that…?” you could try expressing “I feel weight on my shoulders when this thing is not done…”. This is how can make an impact with awareness of word choices. Instead of freezing or running away when things are difficult, you could try to focus on your body for a moment, listen to its message and try to express something like “I don’t know what to say, I need time to digest this. This is important”. Sabotaging stress reactions have been layered in our bodies and minds for a long time. A new cooperation between body and mind is needed to modify and understand them. In the PQ program, you get concrete ways to strengthen that connection. Often, even a little extra time and some physical concentration or lightening exercise is enough: conscious breathing, relaxing a tense facial expression, relaxing feet on the floor, to name a few.
PQ program experiences
Even if PQ sounds too good to be possible, its functionality has been tested extensively worldwide. Positivity can sometimes be criticized as even toxic, especially if you haven’t accepted and recognized the meaning of negative reactions in yourself. PQ does not smooth over the bumps in life, but rather provides the conditions to act in them in a renewed way. We as PQ Coaches are happy to explain the goals and purposes of the PQ program. It can be implemented with many different customizable models for different people.
PQ Cafe
You are welcome to the first open PQ Cafe webinar of the fall season on August 23 at 9-10 am (EEST). At the first meeting in the fall, we will go over the background of PQ training and the underlying theory briefly – why and how PQ training works. You will also get tips and exercise examples. Even if you are already an “experienced PQ practitioner”, it is good to remind yourself of the basics. The webinars are also suitable for new participants interested in PQ or those just beginning their PQ training. In the future, we will always meet monthly, on one Friday, with a new PQ theme. Meet language will be English if needed.
A warm welcome to the expanding world of PQ training and coaching,
